Rimu Extension Table – Five Years Under an Apple Tree

This solid Rimu extension table was inherited by its owner, but with no room for it in the house it was left outdoors under an apple tree for five years. The weather took its toll: the top boards have weathered and split, the finish has completely gone, and parts of the surface show the rough grey of long exposure. Despite the hard life it has endured, the strong turned legs and solid frame remain sound. With careful cleaning, repairs to the top, and a full refinish, this table can once again become a useful and attractive piece of family furniture.
