Description:
This bowl is made from Red Oak that has been fumed. Fuming is an old finishing method in which the timber is exposed to strong ammonia vapour. The ammonia reacts with the natural tannin in the oak and darkens the wood through the surface, rather than just staining the outside. The result is a deeper, richer colour while the grain still shows clearly. A useful bowl with a darker, more antique look.
Finish: Hand finished with Tung oil and Wax.
