Description:
The wood for this bowl came from a Horse Chestnut tree planted in a wet patch near our home in Dannevirke. Horse Chestnut trees produce the familiar conker nuts once popular as ammunition for boys’ slingshots. Although the nuts are bitter and inedible (unlike the unrelated Sweet Chestnut), the timber itself is prized for its outstanding grain and rich colouration. This platter shows off those natural features beautifully.
Finish: Hand finished with Tung oil and Wax.
