This bowl is made from Macrocarpa, one of the first trees grown in New Zealand to shelter windy farms, especially near the coast. Most were planted and left to grow as they would, which is why the timber often shows lively knots. This piece does just that, and has been turned in a classic Scandinavian style. A simple, useful bowl with plenty of character in the grain.
Finish: Hand finished with Tung oil and Wax.
