Description:
This bowl is made from NZ Native Kauri, perhaps the best known and most loved New Zealand native tree. This Kauri was dug from the low-lying wet ground at Te Kauwhata. Acids and other compounds in the swamp have given the timber a greenish tint that is unique to wood from that district.
It has beautiful deep colouring and striking grain, with chatoyance — those small flecks that catch the light and flash back as the bowl is moved. A rich, eye-catching bowl for the table.
Finish: Hand finished with Tung oil and Wax.
