This bowl is made from NZ Native Kowhai, which grows exceptionally well in the Tararua District. It is self-seeded by native birds and readily germinates under hedge or fruit-tree rows. The bright yellow flowers are well loved and among the most iconic in New Zealand.
This piece has amazing grain, with blue resin used to fill natural voids. A lively bowl with both colour and figure.
Finish: Hand finished with Tung oil and Wax.
