This bowl is made from NZ Native Kowhai, which grows exceptionally well in the Tararua District. Native birds spread the seed, and the trees readily germinate under hedges and fruit-tree rows. Kowhai’s bright yellow flowers are among New Zealand’s most iconic.
This piece has deep, colourful grain with just a slight touch of blue resin. A richly figured bowl for the table.
Finish: Hand finished with Tung oil and Wax.
