This piece is made from NZ Native Kowhai, which grows exceptionally well in the Tararua District. It is self-seeded by native birds and readily germinates under hedge or fruit-tree rows. The bright yellow flowers are one of New Zealand’s most iconic.
It is a large, flat-bottomed bowl — more like a dish — with a beautiful, clean grain pattern. Blue resin has been used to fill cracks and voids. A generous serving piece.
Finish: Hand finished with Tung oil and Wax.
