The wood for this platter is NZ Native Red Beech, a beautiful reddish timber from a tree in our front yard. The tree had to be felled after a storm damaged a high branch and rot got into the main trunk, making it a hazard to people using the nearby footpath. This shallow platter is a practical piece for everyday use.
Finish: Hand finished with Tung oil and Wax.
